This weeks piece of art: Impression Sunrise - Claude Monet (1872)
Claude is an interesting use case, specifically in that he didn’t really start painting until his late 40’s & hit the ground running halfway thru his life. His eye sight begins to go & it’s visible in his art, shapes are often faded & distorted. Impression Sunrise in particular is fascinating as it was stolen in 1985.. only to be returned 5 years later.
